I had an inward view of my job this morning and learned several things:
- Most private companies want security because it will save them lots of money down the road and maybe, just maybe, they respect their customers enough to protect their information.
- Governments don’t want security because it costs them time and money and they want what’s easy. They don’t respect their customers (tax payers).
- I am not a documentation creator. I am a Information System Security Officer and I will lead you down the path of secure computing.
- I get very “disgruntled” when I do months of work only to have my work undone in a matter of weeks by someone who wants to take the easy path based on decisions made with a limited view of the actual resources available.
